Gabbert makes for a serviceable upgrade at backup to quarterback Carson Palmer. The team currently houses Drew Stanton and second-year player Zac Dysert on the roster.
Gabbert, 27, is a former first-round pick of the Jacksonville Jaguars from back in 2011. He recently played three seasons with the San Francisco 49ers and started in a total of 13 games.
