Pierce has played in only 24 games with the Clippers this season. Without a doubt the highlight of this campaign cameĀ on February 5, when he returned to Boston for the last time. Undoubtedly, Pierce’s career will be remembered for his 15 seasons with the Boston Celtics, during which he played a pivotal role in the team’s 2008 championship run.
He was the 2008 Finals MVP and each of his 10 All-Star appearances came in green. Pierce also made one second-team All-NBA and three All-NBA third teams with the Celtics.
He was traded to the Brooklyn Nets with power forward Kevin Garnett before the 2013-14 season in the deal that brought Boston a treasure trove of draft picks — one of which has a 25 percent chance of becoming this year’s No. 1 overall pick.
He played one season with the Nets and one season with the Washington Wizards before going to Los Angeles to reunite with former Celtics head coach Doc Rivers.
