Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Martavis Bryant’s reinstatement status seems to be quite up in the air. It was recently reported that Bryant’s return was “imminent.”
Now, the latest news regarding Bryant is suggesting that there is no “update or timeline” as to when the reinstatement will occur. Per the report, the league “refuted” the source that said that Bryant’s return to the NFL was imminent.
Bryant is currently suspended for violating the league’s substance abuse policy on many accounts. He did not play the entire 2016 season and filed for reinstatement on January 17, 2017. While serving his suspension, Bryant did attend rehab.
Bryant also served a four-game suspension in 2015.
At this point, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has the sole discretion and determines “if and when” the suspended player will be allowed to return back to the league.
So far during his tenure with the Steelers, Bryant has tallied 76 catches for a total of 1,314 yards and 14 touchdowns. He recently posted this picture to his Instagram titled “patiently waiting.”

It will be interesting to see if Bryant is reinstated here soon. Ben Roethlisberger and Co. could sure use the talented receiver this upcoming season.
