WATCH: DeShone Kizer opens game with 79-yard TD pass for Notre Dame

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish came out swinging Saturday, landing a haymaker when DeShone Kizer hit Equanimeous St. Brown on a 79-yard touchdown strike against Syracuse on the game’s first play from scrimmage.

St. Brown ran right through a couple would-be arm tackles. Once he got past the defenders, nobody could catch him.

This put the Irish up over Syracuse, 7-0, before even 20 seconds had run off the clock.

It’s exactly the kind of start this program needed after falling to 1-3 last weekend. Unfortunately, Notre Dame’s defense surrendered an eight-play, 75-yard touchdown scoring drive not two minutes later.
