Matt Cassel, playing “on a short leash” with Kellen Moore waiting in the wings for the Dallas Cowboys on Saturday night, made an asinine mistake in the first quarter that resulted in an interception for Darrelle Revis and the New York Jets.
Stumbling after receiving the shotgun snap, Cassel unbelievably hurled up a prayer towards Revis’ general direction. Give credit where credit is due: Revis made an outstanding play to come down with the ball, but Cassel should never have thrown the ball into the field of play.
Matt Cassel with the kind of INT a vet QB should never throw. Stumbles, and then indiscriminately throws with @Revis24 easy

The interception allowed the Jets to claim momentum in a game in which they were getting bullied from the start, and Cassel will never live this play down.
