Myles Jack fell all the way out of the first round after a knee condition scared teams away. It was a shocking development considering he was picked by many to be the top overall player in the 2016 NFL Draft. His free fall finally ended when the Jacksonville Jaguars picked him up with the No. 36 overall selection.

Now that he’s finally landed with the Jags, Jack can put his draft-day tumble in the back of his mind and focus on proving his doubters wrong.

It wouldn’t be fair to criticize general managers for opting not to take Jack, though.

His knee condition, called “chondral defect,” means that bone and cartilage could potentially break away from the knee. Microfracture surgery is a distinct possibility at some point, but nobody knows if or when his knee will break down.

At this time, Jack is good to go, barring some unforeseen event this summer, to be the plug-and-play starter in the middle for the Jaguars.

His speed, athleticism and instincts are as idyllic as anyone could draw up. He plays up to his potential as well and reminds many talent evaluators of Patrick Willis.
