NFL sack leaders 2024
5. Will McDonald, New York Jets
The Jets made Will McDonald the 15th overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, but the Iowa State edge rusher didn’t start any games and only recorded three sacks as a rookie. Thrust into a starting role after Jermaine Johnson’s injury, he’s already tallied a career-high eight sacks. The sky is the limit for this sack artist.

4. Dante Fowler, Washington Commanders
Dante Fowler’s best season came in 2019 when he had 11.5 sacks with the Los Angeles Rams. However, the former No. 3 overall pick is enjoying a career renaissance in his first year with the Washington Commanders. Now 30 years old, Fowler has had back-to-back games with multiple QB takedowns, earning him a place among this season’s NFL sack leaders.

3. Nik Bonitto, Denver Broncos
A second-round pick in 2022, Nik Bonitto is enjoying a breakout season with a top-five Broncos defense. After compiling one sack in his rookie year and eight more in his sophomore season, Bonitto is already up to a career-high nine sacks while starting nine of 11 Broncos games.

2. Dexter Lawrence, New York Giants
There’s a reason Dexter Lawrence is considered one of, if not the best defensive tackle in the NFL today. He’s consistently among the league leaders in pressures among nose tackles, and he also holds up extremely well as a run blocker. The 6-foot-4, 350-pound-plus defensive stalwart cannot be stopped, which is why he’s among the NFL’s sack leaders.

1. Trey Hendrickson, Cincinnati Bengals
It’s no surprise to see the three-time Pro Bowler on this list again after Trey Hendrickson finished second in the NFL with 17.5 sacks last season. Hendrickson’s here thanks to a pair of two-sack performances, plus an incredible four-sack game against the Raiders. If he can keep stringing together performances like this, he’ll be a mainstay among the NFL’s sack leaders all year long.
