Reigning NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers has his Green Bay Packers in the midst of a three-game winning streak following an ugly 38-3 season-opening loss to the New Orleans Saints.
At least for now, this has quieted rumors that Rodgers is playing out his final season with the Packers before moving on to another NFL city.
Of course, speculation will continue after an off-season that was filled with drama between Rodgers and his Packers organization. That included some wild rumors ahead of last week’s win over the Pittsburgh Steelers that the future Hall of Famer was angling to join Mike Tomlin in the Steel City.
Let us explain. Rodgers appeared on The Pat McAfee show last week, and showered Tomlin with a ton of praise.
“I have a ton of respect for Mike. I think he’s a fantastic coach. I love the way that he leads. I love that way that he talks after the games,” Aaron Rodgers told McAfee. “He always seems to keep things really even keel. Looks like he’s somebody that players love playing for.”

For some reason, local talking heads in Pennsylvania took this as Rodgers potentially showing interest in replacing the aging Ben Roethlisberger in Pittsburgh next season. In his weekly appearance with McAfee following Sunday’s win, Rodgers pushed back against those rumors.
With Green Bay slated to go up against an up-and-coming Cincinnati Bengals team in Week 5, Rodgers was referencing sophomore quarterback Joe Burrow.
He seems to be suggesting that fans and local media relating to the teams he plays on a weekly basis are going to link him to said market if he even throws one piece of admiration in the direction of his opponent.
Things really should be dying down on the Aaron Rodgers front right now. He’s not being moved this season. He has the Packers looking like a legitimate conference title contender with consecutive wins over the Detroit Lions, San Francisco 49ers and aforementioned Steelers.

Even then, this won’t stop others from starting up the rumor mill. After all, the contentious relationship between Rodgers and his Packers didn’t just become a storybook ending. There’s still some major issues the two sides must address.
As for Rodgers, the 37-year-old quarterback continues to play at an absolutely elite clip. Over the course of his past 52 starts, this dude has thrown 107 touchdowns against 13 interceptions. Who wouldn’t want that type of production? Yeah!
