The Kansas City Chiefs entered last offseason with the hope of becoming the first team in the Super Bowl era to three-peat. While Kansas City reached Super Bowl LIX, it suffered a blowout loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in a one-sided matchup that was far wider than the score indicated. Now, the team enters the offseason poised to lose multiple starters. With visions of a bounceback next season, our Chiefs mock draft 2025 shows how the front office can retool the roster for both the present and future.
Round 1, 31st overall: Nic Scourton, EDGE, Texas A&M

Chris Jones and George Karlaftis provided plenty of pass-rushing help for this Kansas City Chiefs defense, but more is necessary. After all, Kansas City finished the regular season just 19th in ESPN pass-rush win rate (37%) and sack rate (6.4%). Texas A&M edge rusher Nic Scourton – 6-foot-4 – already has a nice arsenal of pass-rush moves and he plays with a non-stop motor that the Chiefs coaching staff will love. Kansas City’s defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo could deploy Scourton as a versatile pass rusher that he can move around the line of scrimmage, finding matchups to exploit with offensive lines focused on Jones and Karlfatis.

Round 2, 63rd overall: Cameron Williams, OT, Texas

The Kansas City Chiefs need to solve their left tackle problem immediately, which means addressing the position in free agency instead of the 2025 NFL Draft. This selection is about Jawaan Taylor. The veteran right tackle’s cap hit ($27.391 million) and contract structure makes releasing him this offseason unlikely However, there’s $20 million of cap relief once released in 2026. Taylor can remain the starter next season, while Cameron Williams uses his rookie campaign as a development year. He should be ready to step in a year from now, meaning Kansas City would have its replacement at right tackle and $20 million to spend in free agency. This is a pick for the future.

Round 3, 66th overall: Alfred Collins, DT, Texas

While the Kansas City Chiefs had a top-10 run defense for most of the regular season, it fell off late in the year. It’s also worth noting that Kansas City finished 21st in run-stop win rate (31%) and it has defensive tackle Mike Pennel and Derrick Nnadi set to hit the open market. Texas Longhorns defensive lineman Alfred Collins – 6-foot-5 and 320 pounds – is a space-eater on the interior. He can be an immediate contributor on running downs, which should help Kansas City be able to deploy Jones more effectively. Plus, Collins really took a leap in 2024 as an interior pass rusher, which bodes well for his long-term development.

Round 3, 95th overall: Tate Ratledge, iOL, Georgia

Trey Smith is a free agent with everyone around the league expecting him to depart, creating a new void on this offensive line. Finding an established left tackle would mean shifting Joe Thuney back to left guard, giving Kansas City two All-Pro talents on the interior. However, it still leaves the void to fill at right guard with Smith’s departure. Georgia Bulldogs offensive lineman Tate Ratledge is a starting-caliber guard at the NFL level immediately, with the skill set to hold his own in pass protection. He obviously won’t be as good as Smith, but he would be a more cost-effective starter for Kansas City.

Round 4, 131st overall: Mitchell Evans, TE, Notre Dame

It’s looking increasingly likely that Travis Kelce will retire, adding tight end to the positions of need in our Chiefs mock draft. It’s possible that 2024 fourth-round pick Jared Wiley could become something for this offense next season, but he did play just 94 snaps in seven games this past season. Notre Dame’s Mitchell Evans can step in as a TE2 in the Chiefs’ offense, serving as a fairly effective blocker who could also serve as the occasional underneath target. That’s not a bad return for a late fourth-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Round 7, 227th overall: Jailin Walker, LB, Indiana

Nick Bolton is among the Chiefs free agents in 2025 and is not expected to return his project free-agent market value. Kansas City will also likely keep onto Drue Tranquill for one more season before letting him go in 2026. Indiana linebacker Jailin Walker, measuring 6-foot-2 and 245 pounds, was on Bruce Feldman’s College Football freaks in 2024, offering elite speed (21-22 mph) for his frame. He could challenge for a spot on the Chiefs roster as a rookie, potentially contributing on special teams.
