10. Scottie Scheffler – $50 million

PGA: the Memorial Tournament presented by Workday - Final Round

Scottie Scheffler is No. 1 in the official world golf ranking, but he’s not anywhere close to becoming the highest-paid player in the sport. The 26-year-old is sponsored by Carlsbad, Titleist, Vokey Wedges and the TaylorMade Golf Company, which helps account for $15 million of his earnings. Scheffler took home $2.7 million in 2022 for winning The Masters and his second-place finish at the 2023 PGA Championship earned him $1.54 million. In total, Scheffler has earned $35 million on the golf course.

Jon Rahm is No. 2 in the world golf rankings, boasting an impressive resume that includes two major wins and multiple top-five finishes. It’s a big reason why the 28-year-old is one of the highest paid golfers right now. Rahm took home $3.24 million for winning the 2023 Masters. Unlike Scheffler, though, a significant amount of his earnings come from endorsements. Among Rahmn’s sponsors are Rolex, Callaway, Blue Yonder and Mercedes-Benz. He could’ve had even more money had he originally joined LIV.

Reed has nine PGA Tour wins, three European Tour wins and took home the 2018 Masters Tournament. He earned $864,000 for a fourth-place tie at the 2023 Masters, $1.98 million for winning in 2018 and went home with $784,000 after he tied for second at the 2017 PGA Championship. Tiger Woods is the highest paid golfer ever, but he’s quickly fallen down the leaderboard in 2023. While Woods is no longer bringing in the money he used to through purse winnings – 82 PGA Tour Wins, 41 European Tour wins – he is credited with $60 million in off-course earnings. Woods is the only billionaire in the history of professional golf and he could’ve earned even more if he had accepted LIV Golf’s offer ($700-$800 million). However, it might’ve been the best decision as joining LIV would’ve certainly cost him endorsement money.

Once the No. 1 golfer in the world, Koepka’s three PGA Championships (2018, ’19, ’23) and two U.S. Open wins (2017-’18) provided him with more than $11 million in prize money alone.
