While his season didn’t start at the same time as other college basketball athletes after going into cardiac arrest last July, Bronny James is still firmly on the radar of NBA teams. The USC Trojans guard, who also happens to be the oldest son of LeBron James, has only started two of the ten games he’s appeared in this season, but that doesn’t mean teams aren’t still watching closely.

James, 6-foot-4, plays both point guard and shooting guard, and his top trait seems to be his ability to guard along the perimeter, but at just 19 years old, he has plenty of time to improve.

The 2024 NBA Draft isn’t until June 27, so teams have plenty of time to continue evaluating Bronny James’ skill set. Yet, with just 13 games left to play on the USC Trojans‘ schedule, time is running out. There has been no official word either way, whether James could consider playing another season in college or elsewhere before putting his name in the NBA Draft.

But based on his work so far, basketball scouts are already putting James on their NBA Draft boards.

According to NBA insider Shams Charania, James is “on the draft boards of multiple teams.” He adds that the league views Bronny’s work defensively to be further along than his game offensively. However, James is also coming off one of his best games as a scorer yet, where he recorded 11 points, six assists, and five rebounds against Arizona.

Teams like the Miami Heat have been publicly seen scouting James, and based on Charania’s report, they’re far from the only team tracking James’ progress. It’s also worth pointing out that his dad, LeBron, has stated a strong desire to play alongside Bronny once he reaches the NBA too. With LeBron holding a player option for the 2024-25 season, waiting to see where Bronny lands could set off a chain reaction.
