One top playoff contender ‘taking notes’ on Bronny James in preparation of NBA Draft

In the past, LeBron James has admitted that he wants to play in the NBA with his son, Bronny James, who is in his first season with the USC Trojans. Even though the Los Angeles Lakers have the four-time MVP under contract right now, he holds a $51 million player option for the 2024-25 season. This gives LeBron the option to leave the Lakers and join whichever team lands Bronny if he were to enter the 2024 NBA Draft.

As you might imagine, the potential to add a historic basketball icon like LeBron to your franchise, surely boosting ticket sales and advertising opportunities, may be too enticing for a non-competitive team to avoid.

Yet, there are plenty of other competitive situations that may be able to attract LeBron to join their winning effort instead. One of those teams has actually already sent team personnel to scout Bronny in person at USC basketball games this season.

According to Brian Windhorst, a Miami Heat employee by the name of Adam Simon has already been seen “taking notes” on Bronny.

Simon is listed as Miami’s vice president of basketball operations in addition to being the assistant general manager. In other words, Simon, in his 29th year with the organization, has a lot of pull in Miami.

Is there a scenario where LeBron takes his talent to South Beach again? Fans in Miami sure wouldn’t mind a chance to add to the two NBA Finals trophies LeBron won in his first stint under coach Erik Spoelstra, but first, the Heat would likely have to find a way to add Bronny.
