The pendulum has already begun to swing in regard to the next destination for quarterback Aaron Rodgers, the Green Bay Packers legend who recently stepped into what is now well-known as a “Darkness Retreat” that will seemingly assist in his decision for the 2023 NFL season.
Initial odds showed Rodgers landing with the Las Vegas Raiders as the heavy overwhelming favorite. The Packers (+225) and New York Jets (+450) were also strongly in the mix as likely possibilities.
However, as of Thursday afternoon, while the Raiders still stood firmly in the pole position, the Jets and Packers appeared to have swapped places. New York’s odds shortened to +250 and the Packers fell back to +300.
If you happen to be a fan of the Packers, right here is where you start hammering away at the panic button to a crowd-pleasing degree. That is, of course, if you hadn’t done so already.

Did Aaron Rodgers’ next-team odds shift the NFC favorites?
As bizarre as it may sound, the Jets seem like an ideal landing spot for Rodgers.
With a stout defense led by the already-great Sauce Garnder — who commands one side of the field like Deion Sanders once did — to go along with a number of weapons on offense, it looks like a tremendous match on paper. The perfect swan song for the 39-year-old Rodgers to give it one last furious run.
But one has to wonder, are the San Francisco 49ers sneakily in play here, too? Because Kyle Shanahan and Co. are now currently sitting behind only the Chiefs and Bills to win the Super Bowl next season. Those odds are surprising after a blowout 31-7 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Championship Game.
After seeing those odds, it’s more than a fair question. Anyone who knows anything about sports knows that Vegas routinely has a whole lot more intel than we do, a whole lot earlier than we do.
So, despite getting slaughtered by Philadelphia in the NFC Championship game and having a laundry list of questions to answer in regard to the quarterback position, the Niners are somehow slotted ahead of Philly, a team with far fewer question marks.
So, it wouldn’t be crazy to think that a “quiet” conversation or two has been held in regard to the services of Aaron Rodgers.

Quarterback Trey Lance is understandably a monster question mark coming off season-ending surgery and Brock Purdy — while garnering major support from his 49ers teammates — will be coming off intense surgery of his own. Floating the idea of Rodgers isn’t too far-fetched.
When it comes to the fierce winds of the NFL offseason rumor mill, having your head on a swivel is really just standard procedure. So when we see a noticeable shift in Vegas — whether it be player landing spots or Super Bowl odds — our collective offseason ears tend to get pinned back and ready to pounce on what might be next.
