A new report claims that there are some in Russell Wilson’s inner circling that are urging him to join the Las Vegas Raiders this offseason.
The Raiders enter the offseason with several holes to fill, but none is more prominent within their fanbase and around the league than the quarterback spot. The team has some very good talent on the roster, but if the most important position in the league is a weak spot then the team’s chances in 2024 may be limited from the start.

That is why there has been a great deal of speculation about what the organization will do to upgrade the QB position in the coming months. The most popular option is for Las Vegas to use their top pick in the April NFL Draft on one of the five talented top QB prospects in this year’s class. However, another option is growing in popularity.
Denver Broncos QB Russell Wilson is expected to be cut by the team in the coming days to avoid a massive contract guarantee they don’t want to pay in 2025. The Seattle Seahawks legend, who struggled for much of the last two seasons, is not expected to be traded this week. However, he is meeting with teams in advance of his impending free agency.

Russell Wilson doesn’t want to be a ‘bridge’ QB with Las Vegas Raiders or any future team
On Friday, the nine-time Pro Bowler met with both the Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Giants. Following those reports came news that Wilson is likely to meet with the Raiders next. If those three teams are the top candidates for the QB, it seems friends of Wilson have a preferred destination.
Before his meetings this week, Denver Sports radio host and reporter Cecil Lammey claimed “I’m told Wilson is being advised to sign with the Raiders by those close to him.” Lammey also added that Wilson “does not consider himself a ‘bridge’ quarterback, and he wants his next team to commit to him.”
Since the veteran QB will be getting paid $39 million from the Broncos this season he is expected to take a bargain rate contract from his next team. So it is understandable why he wants his next organization to have a more than one-year plan for him since he is giving them a major discount. While he had a horrible debut season in 2022, Wilson played well often for Denver last year.
