The Denver Nuggets, Indiana Pacers, and Memphis Grizzlies could use more impact players on defense for the second half of the season. A very affordable player who can do just that reportedly has just hit the free-agent market.
The Nuggets, Pacers, and Grizzlies enter the All-Star breaks feeling good about how they have performed over the first half. The Western Conference squads enter the midway point tied for the second-best record (36-18) in a very tough Western Conference. Indiana had a very bumpy start to the year but has righted the ship over the last month and a half to earn a top-four record in the East.

A major reason for the trio of teams’ success is their offense. They are among the 10 best scoring teams in the league with the Grizzlies’ 123.3 points per game being the best in the NBA. However, for as good as they are putting the ball in the basket they struggle mightily on defense. They are 21st, 22nd, and 23rd in points against in the league.
They could use as much defensive help as they can get heading into the second half. All three were also looking for ways to add to their depth before the NBA trade deadline and on the buyout market this month. Well, an interesting veteran option to boost their defense and bench just became available.
Could the Denver Nuggets or Indiana Pacers sign Patrick Beverley soon?

This week it was revealed that none other than Patrick Beverley will now be available to any contending team looking to add the three-time All-NBA defensive teamer to their rosters for the second half.
The 36-year-old did not hit the open market because he was released by an NBA team this week. He was actually competing internationally this season for Israeli club Hapoel Tel Aviv. However, he and the club reportedly came to terms on his release Thursday. Making way for his return to the NBA.
- Patrick Beverley stats (Career): 8.3 PPG, 4.1 RPG, 3.4 APG, 1.1 SPG, 37% 3PT
Beverley has played for seven teams during his 12-year career in the association. However, the defensive legend actually has never played for the Denver Nuggets, Indiana Pacers, or Memphis Grizzlies in that time. He would be a nice addition for either team as a backup point guard who brings three-point shooting, grit, playoff experience, and of course strong defense.
