Playing a favorite: Kyle Larson (+800)

Kyle Larson has the second highest odds to become the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series champion and it makes him a great play with the new season underway. Larson turned it on at the end of the year while an unlucky caution cost him a win in Las Vegas.

The driver of the No. 5 car won three races during the 2022 season and made the owner’s championship before falling short of the title. It may not have been what Larson wanted last season but the future looks bright for him.

Betting on a darkhorse contender: Alex Bowman (+3000)

Alex Bowman has seen an incredible start to the 2023 season as one of two drivers with three top-10 finishes and one of two drivers with two top-5 finishes. Bowman has adapted really well to the new crew chief change with Blake Harris.

The driver of the No. 48 car has the 13th-best NASCAR odds; however, Chevrolet’s dominance is already enough to show his time is coming soon. Bowman will look to overcome this feat at Phoenix to cement himself as a championship contender.

Going all-in on a deep sleeper: Bubba Wallace (+5000)

Bubba Wallace had the best season of his NASCAR Cup Series career last year and it should only great better as we dive further into 2023. It has not been a great start with two DNFs in the first two races; however, he bounced back with a fourth-place finish at Las Vegas.

Wallace is tied for the 15th-best NASCAR odds after a stellar playoff performance that saw him claim a win at Kansas Speedway. For now, the driver of the No. 23 car remains a high-quality option to be this year’s Ross Chastain.

NASCAR odds – Pick to avoid: Ricky Stenhouse Jr. (+5000)

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. won the 2023 Daytona 500 after holding off Joey Logano and Christopher Bell as the caution flag flew. With the victory, Stenhouse Jr. has clinched a spot in the NASCAR playoffs for the time being but his chances for the championship are too high.

The driver of the No. 47 car is tied for the 15th-best NASCAR odds with Chase Briscoe and it’s clear he likely won’t compete for the title. Stenhouse Jr. will forever be a Daytona 500 champion but the equipment is not good enough to boast that level of NASCAR odds.
