While there is a great deal of speculation that the Chicago Bears will use the top pick overall in April on a quarterback, their top wide receiver believes they have a very talented signal caller already that he wants to see starting in 2024.
For the second straight year, the Bears have a massive decision to make when it comes to the QB spot long-term. They have the top pick in a year with some strong signal-caller prospects. But their current starting QB, Justin Fields, is a former first-round pick and has shown signs he potentially can be a franchise QB.
- Justin Fields stats (2023-24): 2,562 passing yards, 657 rushing yards, 20 total TDs, 9 INTs
Last year they traded out of the pick and bet on Fields. Unfortunately, he delivered mixed results for the team in 2024 but had a very strong finish to the season. So here we are again with a bunch of speculation about what Chicago will do with their first pick in April.
Well, if it were up to him, DJ Moore seems to believe the team should use the pick on a different position.

DJ Moore throws public support behind Justin Fields being Chicago Bears’ starting QB in 2024
During a Thursday conversation with Pro Football Talk at this year’s Super Bowl, DJ Moore explained why he admires his QB so much after just one season playing with him, and believes he is a developing future star who can take the Bears well into the future.
“His growth has been phenomenal. If you look at his games after he came off the injury, he’s been everything you can ask for from a quarterback,” Moore said. “Just putting players in a position to win and getting the ball to his playmakers. If he’s got to do it himself, he’ll take it 50 or 60 yards. That’s all you can ask, steady growth and that’s what he did.
“… He’s a great leader. He might not say it out loud but he leads by example. … I’m definitely on record [wanting Justin Fields as his QB].”
A top player pushing the franchise to stay the course will certainly have an effect. But in the end, the organization must do what they feel is best and USC Trojans star Caleb Williams may be too talented for the Chicago Bears to pass on with the top pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
