Through the first three weeks of the 2020 NFL season, the league has been able to avoid the very same COVID-19 outbreaks we’ve seen around the MLB world.

That might no longer be the case given the news coming out of Nashville Tuesday morning.

Multiple Tennessee Titans players test positive for COVID-19

NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero and Mike Garafolo were the first to report the news Tuesday morning, indicating that both the Titans and Vikings, who Tennessee played this past Sunday, will suspend in-person team activities.

The league then confirmed said news, indicating that five other individuals within the Titans’ organization also tested positive for the virus.

The league will conduct further testing and contact tracing to see just how widespread this outbreak is. However, it could have wide-ranging ramifications.

Could Steelers-Titans Week 4 game be in jeopardy?

It’s being billed as one of the top games on this week’s schedule. The undefeated Titans, coming off three consecutive narrow wins to open the season, hosting another undefeated team in that of Ben Roethliserger and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

As we saw leading up to last week’s Atlanta Falcons game against the Chicago Bears, this game could very well be in jeopardy. It will all be dependent on how this plays out in the coming days.

Could Vikings-Texans Week 4 game be in jeopardy?

It must be noted that there has not yet been a confirmed positive test within the Vikings’ organization. Rather, it’s precautionary that their facilities are shut down right now given the team played Tennessee last week.

Minnesota did have an outbreak of the virus ahead of Week 1, but things seem to be alright on that front right now. How things unfold in the Twin Cities could tell us what we need to know about Sunday’s matchup between two winless squads.
