
Philadelphia Flyers forward Derick Brassard was fined $2,000 by the NHL on Sunday for unsportsmanlike conduct.
Brassard was assessed a minor penalty for interference after he punched Washington Capitals forward Garnet Hathaway during the second period of the Flyers’ 2-1 win on Saturday. Brassard was on the bench at the time, while Hathaway was on the ice.
Brassard, who scored a goal midway into the second period, has recorded seven points (two goals, five assists) in 10 games this season.
The 34-year-old Brassard has 510 points (196 goals, 314 assists) in 915 career games with nine different NHL teams.
