NFL free agency will begin on March 11th, and the New York Giants will be actively looking to upgrade their roster.
One of the positions the Giants will try to address in free agency is the wide receiver position, especially if Wan’Dale Robinson leaves in free agency. Even if they’re able to re-sign Robinson, they’ll need another receiver who can make plays outside the numbers.
Darius Slayton has been unreliable, and the team may look to part ways with Jalin Hyatt this offseason. This is why it’s imperative that the team add another wideout to complement Malik Nabers and help the production of Jaxson Dart.
But New York only has $6.9 million in cap space, which means pursuing the top free agent wideouts such as Mike Evans and Alec Pierce is off the table. However, there are other productive receivers on the market that won’t command a price tag as high as Evans or Pierce.
These are the three veteran free agent receivers who need to be on the Giants’ radar.

Romeo Doubs

Doubs led the Green Bay Packers in receptions (55), receiving yards (724), and was tied for the team lead in touchdown receptions with six in 2025. He may not make flashy plays, but he’s a solid route runner who makes tough and contested catches.
In his four years in Green Bay, he’s appeared in 59 games, has 202 receptions with 2,424 yards, and 21 touchdowns. At 6’2 204 pounds, he has the size to win one-on-one battles on the outside against physical corners and would be a great option in the red zone. His yards per reception have increased in each of his four seasons, and that should continue to increase with Jaxson Dart throwing him the ball.
Doubs will turn 26 in April and is just entering his prime, and would be a good number two option on the outside.
Marquise ‘Hollywood’ Brown

Brown hasn’t lived up to expectations when the Baltimore Ravens took him with the 25th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, but he has shown flashes here and there. His best season came in 2021 when he had 91 receptions for 1,008 yards with six touchdowns.
Brown spent the last two seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs, which means he’s familiar with new offensive coordinator Matt Nagy’s offense. When coordinators change teams, it’s ideal for them to try to acquire players who are familiar with their scheme, which is one reason why he should be on the Giants radar.
The other reason is his incredible speed, and he can be the team’s deep threat that Jalin Hyatt was supposed to be. For his career, Brown has 371 receptions for 4,322 yards with 33 touchdowns. He might be willing to take a one-year prove-it deal to remain with Nagy.
Tyquan Thornton

If Nagy and general manager Joe Schoen are unable to persuade Brown into joining Big Blue, there’s another big play Chiefs wideout on the market in Tyquan Thornton. Although his opportunities were limited due to the array of Chiefs pass catchers, the 25-year-old wideout had 19 receptions for 438 yards, with three touchdowns, and averaged 23.1 yards per catch.
New York witnessed Thornton’s big play ability in the Chiefs’ 22-9 Week 3 win over the Giants when he had a 33-yard reception as part of his five catches for 71 yards and a touchdown performance. For the season, Thornton had six receptions of 33 yards or more.
The 6’2, 185-pound pass catcher also returned 18 kickoffs for 475 yards, which is an added bonus, especially if New York is unable to re-sign their kick returner, Gunner Olszewski. Thornton is another inexpensive option for Big Blue, who could have a significant role for the team.
The Giants could also look to add a wideout in the draft, but if they go the free agent route, Doubs, Brown, and Thornton are viable options where they won’t have to break the bank to acquire them.
