A new report reveals that the New York Giants are looking at adding another former head coach and offensive guru to help turn quarterback Jaxson Dart into a star next season.

This past season was another miserable one for NY Giants fans. After an ugly 3-14 record in 2024, the team was only one game better after they finished with a 4-13 mark in 2025. Their awful play, especially late in games, is part of why head coach Brian Daboll was fired in November and replaced in the offseason by legendary former Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh.

There were few bright spots this past season, but one of the most notable was the hope rookie QB Jaxson Dart delivered to fans. Did he look like a no-doubt future franchise signal caller? No, but he offered a good bit of evidence that he could be turned into one with some help.

Obviously, a reliable offense line, better weapons, and the healthy returns of Malik Nabers and Cam Skattebo would play a major part in making that happen. But, more than anything, Dart needs to be put in a system that plays to his strengths and hides his weaknesses.

When Harbaugh was hired as head coach, reports suggested he had an open checkbook to add whoever he wanted to his staff, no matter the cost. That began last week when they hired former Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator and one-time Chicago Bears head coach Matt Nagy to oversee their offense in 2026.

Nagy is from the Andy Reid coaching tree and has worked with the legendary coach often during his career. He is viewed as a proven offensive coach who can accelerate Dart’s development. However, the organization may not be done spending big to get respected veteran coaches around their young QB.

According to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, “The Giants are interviewing former Tennessee Titans HC Brian Callahan for their QB coach job.” Callahan was dismissed from his role in Tennessee following the season. He originally landed the job due to his work with Joe Burrow in Cincinnati.

Going from a head coach to a QB coach would be a big step back for Callahan. However, Harbaugh is trying to put together one of the best staffs in the league, and the NY Giants are willing to pay well to do it. They also seem hyper-focused on developing Dart into a top star on the roster immediately.

Having the youngster work with two proven offensive minds that were respected enough to land head coaching jobs in the NFL certainly bodes well for that possibility later this year.
