Once again, the Buffalo Bills look like one of the best teams in the NFL. Boasting Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs, two players who are among the best at their position, the Bills routinely find themselves playing in big games, whether it’s regular season action or when facing elimination in the playoffs.

Yet, despite all their success, the Bills haven’t done anything yet. They’re still one of just 12 teams without a Super Bowl win. Sure, the Bills have gotten as far as the Conference Championship in 2020, but they haven’t gotten past the AFC Divisional Round since.

Naturally, when the Bills come up short for one reason or another, frustration seeps in. Some individuals handle their emotions better than others, whereas some choose to wear their frustration on their sleeves.

Even though he’s an All-Pro receiver who continues to be one of the most productive pass-catchers in the NFL, Diggs has had several sideline fiascos leading to outside criticism. That continued during Buffalo’s Week 5 25-20 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, where Diggs was seen suddenly slamming a poor Microsoft tablet on the sideline.

While speculation could point to several assumptions about what Diggs was so upset about, his quarterback put his support behind his top target when asked about the situation on Wednesday.

“People are throwing different ideas about what he was mad at on the sideline. He was mad at himself for running the wrong release on a route. He’s a competitor, he’s a fiery competitor. I’m tired of hearing all this nonsense from people. There’s a lot of guys in the league who have that fire who don’t get talked about. He’s a lot of our juice on the sideline, making sure the offense is staying up and as energized as possible, and we feed off that. He’s a captain for a reason. For better or worse, he’s up in guys’ faces and he’s making sure that we have as much juice as we need, and he supplies that to our offense at times we need it. He doesn’t get the burn that he deserves that and frankly it ticks me off when people want to say something about him.”

Josh Allen on Stefon Diggs’ sideline spat in Bills’ loss to Jaguars

Allen has always stood by Diggs’ side, and he even agreed with his receiver by noting he’d be “worried if no one was freaking out” during the team’s loss in London. As they say, winning cures everything, and the Bills just haven’t been able to get over the hump quite yet.
