Third-year Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love was pretty good Sunday despite his team falling to the Atlanta Falcons by the score of 25-24.
Love completed 14-of-25 passes for 151 yards with three touchdowns and zero interceptions. Through two games, the former first-round pick has tallied six touchdowns and no picks through the air.
Love, 24, is being tasked with replacing all-time great Packers legend Aaron Rodgers. In fact, he was just the third Packers quarterback to start a season opener since 1992, joining Rodgers and Hall of Famer Brett Favre.
As Love plays well to open the 2023 season, the young quarterback continues to receive praise from those around the football world. Former Packers star LeRoy Butler is the latest to sing his praise, indicating that Love could end up being the best quarterback from the 2020 NFL Draft, besting Joe Burrow, Justin Herbert and Tua Tagovailoa.

“I think he may be better than those guys,” Butler on Jordan Love, via TMZ Sports. “Because he’s going to have that opportunity because he had to sit and wait.”
That’s something else. Burrow just landed the richest contract for a player in NFL history, inking a five-year, $275 million contract extension with the Cincinnati Bengals. Herbert had hit the high-water mark with his own extension with the Los Angeles Chargers weeks earlier. Meanwhile, Tua is coming off a Week 1 performance that saw him throw for 466 yards in a win over the aforementioned Chargers.
Jordan Love stats (2023): 56% completion, 396 yards, 6 TD, 0 INT, 118.8 QB rating

Love does need to be more accurate if he’s going to be compared to the three Pro Bowlers mentioned above. With that said, what he’s done through two games after replacing Rodgers is nothing short of extraordinary.
Prior to this season, Love had thrown just 83 passes in three NFL seasons. There were a ton of question marks for the young quarterback leading into the season.
Despite Sunday’s loss, Love has answered those questions in more ways than one. That’s for sure.
