Carolina Panthers rookie first-round pick Jaycee Horn was one of the reasons defensive coordinator Phil Snow has seen that unit yield a total of 21 points in two games leading up to “Thursday Night Football” against the Houston Texans.

The rookie No. 8 overall pick from South Carolina has already recorded an interception on the young season and yielded a sub 60 passer rating when targeted through two games.

Unfortunately, Horn will now be sidelined for some time. The cornerback suffered what is being described as a broken foot during the game. While it’s not said to be season-ending, he’s going to be sidelined for some time.

This is certainly going to have an impact on the Panthers’ defense following a 3-0 start to the season. Carolina ended up taking out Houston by the score of 24-9 Thursday night. It has now allowed 30 points in three games while opposing quarterbacks have posted a passer rating 62.0 against this unit.

Carolina is slated to take on Dak Prescott and the high-octane Dallas Cowboys offense next week with its perfect record on the line.
