With a lot of hope surrounding the team heading into the 2023 NFL season, it seems that Detroit Lions tickets are seeing what may be the highest demand ever.

In 2022, the Detroit Lions were one of the best stories in the NFL. After four straight seasons with double-digit losses, the team took a nice leap forward in the second season for head coach Dan Campbell and quarterback Jared Goff. They were in the playoff chase late into the season and finished a game over .500 at 9-8.

While their defense was their Achilles heel throughout the season, they stayed competitive all year long due to an offensive unit that was a legitimate powerhouse and finished in the top five of our NFL offense rankings. However, after some notable moves to improve the defense in the offseason and the departure of NFL legend Aaron Rodgers from the division, the Lions are now seen as a legitimate contender for the NFC North title this season. The fact that the team has very real playoff hopes and the potential to win a division title for the first time since 1993 has created a huge groundswell of interest in their home games.

On Wednesday, NFL Media league insider Mike Garafolo reported Detroit Lions tickets are in such high demand that for the first time in Ford Field history a waiting list has been created for season tickets since they are now all sold out.

He also added that while there is no hard data on it, the belief is that this is the first time in franchise history — not just for their current stadium — that a waitlist has been required for Lions tickets. As shocking as that seems, considering how popular the NFL is, Detroit has only had 32 winning seasons in the 93-year history of the franchise. This means fans are starved for a contender in the city.
