NFL Wild Card ratings continue to be impressive this playoff season. NBC announced that its coverage of the Detroit Lions’ 24-23 win over the Los Angeles Rams averaged 35.8 million viewers on all of its platforms.
On NBC, 31.9 million watched the game, making it the most-watched primetime show since Super Bowl LVII on Fox last February, according to Nielsen.
NBC made history on Saturday with the Kansas City Chiefs’ win over the Miami Dolphins being live-streamed on Peacock, the only playoff game in history to be available on streaming only, and averaged more than 23 million viewers.

NFL Wild Card ratings see increase this year over last
According to preliminary data from NBC, the Lions win over the Rams audience was up 25% from last year’s Wild Card game in the Sunday primetime slot. The Cincinnati Bengals win against the Baltimore Ravens had a 28.6 million audience in 2023.
Sunday’s game was the third-most watched NFL Wild Card game on NBC since 1988, behind the Philadelphia Eagles 16-15 win against the Chicago Bears, which drew 36.5 million and the Seattle Seahawks 17-9 win against the Philadelphia Eagles in 2020, which drew 36.0 million.

NBC’s Saturday afternoon game, the Houston Texans 45-14 win over the Cleveland Browns, averaged 29.0 million viewers on NBC, NBC Sports Digital, NFL Digital, Peacock and Telemundo. It was the most-watched Saturday Wild Card game on NBC since 2014.
