The New York Knicks’ next general manager is not likely to be former Golden State Warriors president Bob Myers, because a team insider says Scott Perry’s replacement is already in the organization.
Earlier this week, the New York Knicks announced that the organization will not be retaining general manager Scott Perry with his contract set to run out at the end of the season. The decision was not shocking since Perry was a holdover of the previous regime before former super-agent Leon Rose became the top member of the front office.

Following the news, many around the NBA began to speculate on who the replacement could be with Bob Myers being a popular pick after he stepped down from his legendary run overseeing the Golden State Warriors franchise for the last decade.
However, a New York Knicks insider reported on yesterday that Myers likely won’t be coming to Gotham because the next GM is already in the organization.

New York Newsday reporter Steve Popper claimed that veteran front office talent Gersson Rosas is likely going to be the next New York Knicks general manager.
“Gersson Rosas would be a fitting successor to Perry, already having been a visible presence since arriving with a vague title: senior basketball consultant. Rosas worked 16 seasons in the Houston Rockets front office, much of it spent working with current Philadelphia 76er president of basketball operations Daryl Morey, briefly serving a three-month stay as general manager of the Dallas Mavericks, and then heading to Minnesota as president of basketball operations for the Timberwolves.
“Rosas, 44, was a constant at courtside with the Knicks last season after being the primary contact in negotiations as the Knicks tried to swing a deal for Donovan Mitchell last summer.”

Myers seems bound for a long hiatus so he can recharge from a stressful couple of years running the Warriors. Considering, Rosas’ experience and already being hired by the current regime, it would almost be surprising if he doesn’t get the job.
