One notable league insider believes the New York Jets are the likeliest landing spot for a three-time Pro Bowler still available in NFL free agency.

Much of the NFL offseason attention has shifted to the New York Jets and the Green Bay Packers. After the organization let legendary quarterback Aaron Rodgers know they were ready to move on to Jordan Love being their QB, the future Hall-of-Famer revealed to the world he still wanted to play in 2023 and would welcome a trade to the Jets.

Since then, the two sides have been trying to hammer out a deal that would bring the four-time NFL MVP to New York next season. However, negotiations have hit some bumps in the road based on compensation. Nevertheless, the Jets have still been busy this month scooping up notable pass-catching weapons in the likelihood that Rodgers is their QB next season.

Last week, the team signed wide receiver Allen Lazard in NFL free agency. Lazard was one of the best players available at the position this year and also happened to be Rodgers’ top target in Green Bay last season.

New York Jets record (2022): 7-10, last place in AFC East

However, it does not seem like the New York Jets will stop there and go with a receiving corps. led by Lazard and 2022 AFC offensive rookie of the year Garrett Wilson. In recent days free agent Odell Beckham Jr. has been linked to the team, and one person in the know believes strongly the team is likely to land him.

On Tuesday, ESPN NFL insider Jeff Darlington reported that “We should very much consider Odell Beckham Jr. still on the table as an option for the New York Jets. In fact, we can go even further and say both sides would still like to see this done. Financials are still in the way of finalizing this thing, but I still think Odell Beckham will win up with the New York Jets.”

The team freed up more cap space and landed an extra second-round pick yesterday when they traded Elijah Moore to the Cleveland Browns.

Beckham Jr. was reportedly looking for close to $20 million per year in a deal since become available last spring. However, his value has seen a steep decline in recent weeks after recovering from a second ACL tear last year and mission all of last season.
