New York Jets star quarterback Aaron Rodgers suffered a torn Achilles four snaps into his career with the team back on September 11.
At least initially, it seemed as if Rodgers would miss the remainder of the 2023 season. While that still seems to be the case, Rodgers has continually noted that he’s ahead of schedule in his rehab.
The future Hall of Famer showed this as he made his way into MetLife Stadium for Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Rodgers was seen walking without crutches.

As you can see, Rodgers was not even limping. This has to be seen as a great sign for the 39-year-old signal caller. It also fits in well with his own narrative surrounding the devastating injury.
“The common practice is about six weeks in a boot, and I was in a shoe in 13 days. This is just my mindset. I believe in the power of intention. I believe in prayer. I believe in your mental status and the power of will. I believe in making room for the miraculous to happen.”

Rodgers is going through a special rehab process that has been made popular by soldiers. It has led to him being ways ahead of schedule in the rehab process.
It’s still going to be a long road for him to return to the Jets late this season. Typically, torn Achilles’ and injuries of this ilk take a calendar year to return from. Even then, he’s not giving up on returning this season.
“Give me the doubts. Give me the timetable. Give me all the things you think can/should/will happen. All I need is that one little extra percent of inspiration. Then watch what I do,” Rodgers said back in September.
Of course, this will also be dependent on the Jets being in playoff contention once Rodgers nears a return. New York finds itself at 2-3 on the season after snapping their three-game losing streak with a win over the Denver Broncos last week.
However, it’s not going to be an easy road for the Jets. After taking on Philadelphia Sunday afternoon, the team has a Week 7 bye. It must then contend with the Los Angeles Chargers, Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins before the calendar hits December.
