New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones has not been cleared for contact and has been ruled out of Sunday’s game against the host Miami Dolphins, coach Joe Judge announced Friday.

Mike Glennon is expected to receive his first start of the season in place of Jones, who sustained a neck strain during New York’s win over the Philadelphia Eagles last Sunday.

Jones reportedly got hurt on the second play last Sunday, but he remained in the game and helped the Giants eke out a 13-7 victory.

Jones, 24, threw for 202 yards and a touchdown on 19-of-30 passing for the Giants (4-7) against the Eagles. On the year, he has completed 64.3 percent of his passes for 2,428 yards, 10 touchdowns and seven interceptions over 11 games.

Glennon, 31, has completed 16 of 25 passes for 196 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions this season.

The 2013 third-round pick has thrown for 6,431 yards with 44 touchdowns and 27 interceptions in 35 career games with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2013-14, 2016), Chicago Bears (2017), Arizona Cardinals (2018), then-Oakland Raiders (2019), Jacksonville Jaguars (2020) and Giants.

New York also signed quarterback Jake Fromm off the Buffalo Bills’ practice squad on Tuesday. Fromm was a fifth-round selection by the Bills in the 2020 NFL Draft and has yet to see NFL action.
