All eyes are on the quarterback carousel in the NFL right now. With teams like the New York Giants still searching for what they hope to be an upgrade over Daniel Jones, everyone wants to know whether they’ll add Aaron Rodgers, Russell Wilson, or another veteran capable of scratching out a few extra victories this season.
The Giants have a number of options, but based on their inability to get a new starter under contract, they don’t appear to be anyone’s first choice. Yet, who else are the Giants still chasing?

New York Giants still hoping Joe Flacco or Russell Wilson join team
We already know about the New York Giants’ pursuit of Aaron Rodgers. The same is true for Russell Wilson, who actually paid a visit to team headquarters earlier this month. The Giants would seemingly be happy with either former Super Bowl-winning quarterback. Yet, there’s another former Lombardi Trophy winner who’s already paid a visit to New York, too.
According to The Athletic’s NFL insider Dianna Russini, the Giants are also “hoping” Joe Flacco or Russell Wilson decides they want to play for the Giants in 2025.
“Hoping that Russell Wilson or Joe Flacco decide to come to New York. I think that’s going to wind up being one of their backup plans, one or the other.”

Despite their impressive accomplishments, settling for a 36-year-old Wilson or a 40-year-old Flacco isn’t exactly inspiring confidence. However, both would be a significant upgrade over Tommy DeVito, so that is a plus.
However, if the Giants moved forward with Wilson or Flacco, expect NFL Draft rumors linking them to a new quarterback to heat up as we approach draft day.
