Lamar Jackson inactive, Tyler Huntley makes first start for Baltimore Ravens

Battling a non-COVID illness all week, there was some question as to whether Lamar Jackson would be able to play Sunday against the Chicago Bears. Now we know for sure. Jackson is officially inactive today, backup quarterback Tyler “Snoop” Huntley will make his first career NFL start, coming in Chicago against rookie Justin Fields.

Huntley has played a bit this season, going 5-of-11 for 39 passing yards, to go along with ten rushing yards. His playstyle is similar to LJ’s in that he is a scrambling quarterback, who can make throws on the run, or move the chains using his athleticism, however, no one man can replace the production of Jackson, the 2019 NFL MVP.

Keep in mind, the Ravens are already without wide receiver Marquise Brown and several of their top running backs after suffering a bevy of early-season injuries. Overcoming the absence of Jackson will be yet another hurdle for coach John Harbaugh’s squad to try and get past on Sunday.

The Ravens are currently in first place of the AFC North at 6-3, whereas the Bears are in third place of the NFC North at 3-6.
