Trevor Lawrence is officially the Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback, finalizing his rookie contract months after being selected with the No. 1 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Contract negotiations between the two sides hit a snag in recent weeks due to a disagreement over the offset language in the third and fourth years of the deal. Fortunately, Lawrence and the Jaguars resolved the issues quickly and got a contract signed before training camp.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter first reported the news and the Jaguars confirmed it moments later, announcing the face of the franchise is signed and ready to compete in the upcoming 2021 NFL season.

Lawrence won’t be landing a record-setting contract, due to the rookie wage scale implemented years ago. However, the No. 1 pick is receiving a four-year deal worth $36.8 million and $24.1 million of that is guaranteed. Here are the other Trevor Lawrence contract details, per Adam Schefter.

With Trevor Lawrence under contract, it clears the way for New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson and San Francisco 49ers quarterback Trey Lance. Barring any unexpected difficulties, the top-three picks should all be signed before training camp arrives.
