North Carolina State forward D.J. Burns has been the talk of the men’s college basketball tournament over the past few weeks.
His infectious personality has come out big time as North Carolina State continues its amazing run in Saturday’s Final 4 matchup against Purdue.
Burns has been so popular that NFL teams have considered the possibility of him making a transition to football after his basketball career comes to a conclusion. While that’s not happening, Burns was on center stage again Saturday as he goes up against Purdue star Zach Edey.
It’s not necessarily a fair matchup for Burns. He stands at 6-foot-9 compared to Edey’s 7-foot-4, 285-pound frame.
- D.J. Burns stats (2023-24): 13.0 PPG, 4.1 RPG, 2.8 APG, 53% shooting
This did not stop Burns from talking smack and making jokes in Edey’s direction during their Final 4 matchup. It was pretty hilarious stuff.
That’s pretty fun.
Burns and the Cinderella Wolfpack also made their way on to the court in Arizona sporting a boombox.
If that weren’t enough, Burns was actually doing work over Edey in the first half of Saturday’s game.
