Even at 35 years old, three-time Pro Bowl wide receiver DeSean Jackson recently made it clear that he has no intention to retire. The former second-round pick from CAL hasn’t made much of an impact since the 2018 season. But it appears that at least one contending team is interested in his services.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Jackson is scheduled to visit with the Baltimore Ravnes on Tuesday.
Baltimore’s struggles at wide receiver have been magnified over the past few weeks with the team having lost two of its past three outings, including an ugly 24-20 defeat at the hands of the New York Giants on Sunday. Tight end Mark Andrews leads all Ravens pass-catchers with 39 receptions. The next three in line have combined for 38 catches.

DeSean Jackson visit seems to be desperation for the Baltimore Ravens
On one hand, bringing in a street free agent for a visit doesn’t cost a darn thing. On the other hand, Jackson is years removed from being anywhere near an impact player. In stints with the Philadelphia Eagles, Los Angeles Rams and Las Vegas Raiders between 2019-21, Jackson caught just 43 passes in 24 games. Prior to that, he was among the most-dynamic receivers in the game.

From Baltimore’s perspective, it has struggled finding a replacement for Marquise Brown who the team traded during the offseason. Devin Duvernay leads all Ravens receivers with 18 catches in six games. Rashod Bateman is second with 11 catches in four outings. He’s also missed the past two games to injury.
This has impacted Lamar jackson a great deal with Baltimore looking to get back into the win column against the division-rival Cleveland Browns in Week 7.
