Two years ago, the Atlanta Hawks parted with four first-round selections plus a pick swap to trade for Dejounte Murray, a former member of the NBA’s All-Defensive team. The Hawks believed they were close to taking the next step toward contending for an NBA Finals trophy, but Atlanta only improved from the ninth to the eighth seed and actually lost two more games than the year before.

Fast forward to this season, and the Hawks are doing even worse, sitting five games below .500 entering play today. With the Hawks not showing any signs of turning their season around, now the conversation has focused on trading Murray, who is in the final year of his contract, and will become an unrestricted free agent once the season concludes.

Several teams have been linked to Murray via trade, but there may be one destination he has his eyes set on.

On Friday, before the Atlanta Hawks were set to take on the Miami Heat at Kaseya Center, Dejounte Murray took to social media to show off all the retired jersey numbers hanging in the rafters. This was before Udonis Haslem had his name and number 40 added to the list.

Still, it shows Murray taking a moment to appreciate the culture the Heat have built. Could this be a subtle hint of the one-time All-Star letting everyone know which team he’d like to join? After all, the Heat are one of several teams rumored to be interested in a Murray trade.

Murray has also been linked to the Lakers, Bucks, and several others ahead of the Feb. 8 NBA trade deadline.
