Many in the Chicago Bears fanbase don’t want to see the team use the top selection in the 2024 NFL Draft on a quarterback because Justin Fields is their man.
The Bears are in a unique position as they close in on the start of the offseason. After a horrid start to the season where they only won two of their first nine, the Bears will miss the playoffs for a third straight year. However, as they head into their final game of this current campaign, they have made a lot of headway toward salvaging the season in recent weeks.

Over the last few weeks, the Bears and their offense have really gotten on a role, and a big part of their success has been due to the play of QB Justin Fields. The third-year player had a disappointing start to the season but has returned to the form that excited many fans about his potential at the end of the 2022 season.
It has put the organization into a difficult situation before they start to begin preparation for the 2024 NFL Draft in April.
Chicago Bears declare Justin Fields should be their starting QB in 2024
Last year, the Chicago Bears traded out of the top pick in the 2022 NFL Draft due to a belief that Fields was the long-term answer at QB and they did not want to waste a valuable selection by reaching on a non-QB. Well, for the second year in a row, Chicago will have the top overall selection. It is the pick they acquired from the Carolina Panthers in their trade last year and comes in with a where there are several very talented signal-caller prospects available.
With the Bears not reaching the playoffs again, for some, it would seem like a no-brainer for them to take a QB with their first or second picks in the first round. However, it seems that many among their fanbase don’t want them to take a QB to replace the incumbent leader of their offense.

In the closing moments of their dominant 37-17 win over the Falcons in Week 17, Bears fans broke out into a “We want Fields!” chant. It was a moment Fields said after the game that he will remember for the rest of his life. While it is unclear what the Bears will do in April, their fans have clearly told them who they want to be the starting QB in 2024.
