San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy has a chance to cap off what has been a Cinderella story for the last pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.

Purdy is set to lead his 49ers into Super Bowl LVIII against Patrick Mahomes and the defending champion Kansas City Chiefs. A win Sunday evening would etch his name into franchise lore with the likes of Joe Montana and Steve Young.

In talking about his preparation for the big game, Purdy relayed that he spent the past two weeks watching Tom Brady Super Bowl tape.

For Purdy, it was a way to realize that he doesn’t have to be perfect in order for the 49ers to win. Check out Purdy’s thought process as relayed by CBS Sports.

Purdy led the 49ers to a comeback win over the Detroit Lions in the NFC Championship Game. The team was down 17 points at halftime before the Iowa State product put up an historic performance in the second half.

For Purdy and the 49ers, that represented the second consecutive game that they came back to win leading up to the Super Bowl.

He was not anywhere near perfect in either game, but was able to come through when it counted the most. That’s similar to what we saw from Brady as he won seven Super Bowl titles during what was one of the greatest careers in football history. It can’t hurt that Purdy is looking to take a page from Brady’s book.
