After a long week for the Masters Tournament, the 44 players who teed it up at Augusta National will be part of a 143-man field at this week’s RBC Heritage for another elevated event on the PGA Tour.
Last week, Jon Rahm was victorious at the Masters to secure his first green jacket and second career major win.
The Masters challenged players both physically and mentally as they endured harsh weather conditions and delays, in addition to the undulating places around the course.
Now, the PGA Tour gets set for the RBC Heritage at the Harbour Town Golf Links in Hilton Head Island, S.C., only 130 miles from Augusta National.
The course is a par-71 totaling 7,121 yards that will challenge the field to hit tee shots on to tight fairways and small greens while avoiding oak trees and bunkers.

Who are some of the top golfers in the RBC Heritage?

Most of the top golfers are competing this week, headlined by Masters Champion, Jon Rahm, who collected his fourth win of the PGA Tour season last week. Rahm, who currently sits at No. 1 in both the Official World Golf Ranking and the FedEx Cup standings, has a 786-point lead in the standings.
Last year, Jordan Spieth won the RBC Heritage in a playoff over Patrick Cantlay that gave him his first win since the 2021 Valero Texas Open. Spieth is trying to become the 11th golfer to win multiple times at the RBC Heritage. Â
Spieth, who ranks No. 34 in the FedEx Cup standings, is one of 41 of the top 50 players in the FedEx Cup to compete, in addition to the top 30 FedEx Cup players teeing it up this week.
In addition, four-time major winner Ernie Els and two-time RBC Heritage champion Jim Furyk will be teeing it up this week. European Ryder Cup captain and five-time RBC Heritage runner-up Luke Donald is also getting set to compete this week at Harbour Town.

Patrick Cantlay

Despite losing to Spieth last year, Patrick Cantlay does not have much of a weakness. In four previous starts at the RBC Heritage, Cantlay has finished no worse than seventh, which came in 2018. The 31-year-old also has a couple of third place finishes in 2017 and 2019 before his second place last year.
This season, Cantlay has four top-10s, in addition to his finishing 14th last week at the Masters. He recorded back-to-back top-5 finishes at two consecutive elevated events at The Genesis Invitational and the Arnold Palmer Invitational earlier this year.
Scottie Scheffler

Ranked No. 2 in both the Official World Golf ranking and the FedEx Cup standings, Scottie Scheffler is actually making his tournament debut at Harbour Town. Since the Worldwide Technology Championship in November, Scheffler has finished no worse than 12th in 11 events.
Scheffler, who has won the WM Phoenix Open and THE PLAYERS Championship this season, leads the PGA Tour in strokes gained: tee to green, which will be a pivotal statistic to watch this week. He also leads the field in strokes gained: off the tee and greens in regulation while being second in strokes gained: total.
Collin Morikawa

Collin Morikawa was making his way up the leaderboard last week, trying to get the third leg of the career grand slam with victories at all four major tournaments before settling for a 10th place finish with Scheffler and other stars, Matt Fitzpatrick and Xander Schauffele, whom both are teeing it up this week.
Most courses can play to Morikawa’s strengths and Harbour Town is no different. Morikawa, who is one of the best ball strikers, has four top 10s this season with three of those coming at the elevated events, with the two others coming at the Sentry Tournament of Champions and The Genesis Invitational.
Justin Thomas         Â

Justin Thomas comes in this week looking to turn things around after missing the cut last week at The Masters. Last week was Thomas’ first missed cut this season as he has two top 10s at the WM Phoenix Open and at the Valspar Championship.
In addition to strokes gained: off the tee, the small greens will lead to players missing greens in regulation. As a result, the short game is going to be another thing to watch. The player that leads the PGA Tour in strokes gained: around the green? Justin Thomas. Thomas has to start heating up ahead of his PGA Championship title defense next month.
Cameron Young

Cameron Young comes to South Carolina for his second RBC Heritage start. Last year, Young started strong with an opening round 8-under 63, en route to a third place finish. This season, Young came close to his first PGA Tour win with a second place finish in the World Golf Championships-Dell Technology Match Play event a couple weeks ago.
It will be interesting to see how well some of the top players from last week’s Masters do, including Young, who finished seventh, after the challenging week. Young enters this week No. 14 in the Official World Golf Ranking and No. 31 in the FedEx Cup standings. Â
