WATCH: Red Sox 2B Eduardo Nunez hits inside the park HR on Opening Day

Opening Day 2018 has already been action packed. Boston Red Sox second baseman Eduardo Nunez added to the fun, hitting an inside the park home run against the Tampa Bay Rays.

Nunez placed the ball perfectly between centerfielder Kevin Kiermaier and left fielder Denard Span. The two did not communicate well. Rather than getting caught or falling for a single, it split the two outfielders and went to the wall.

Nunez’s speed took over from there.

It was already a fun Opening Day prior to that. Baltimore Orioles right fielder Craig Gentry robbed a home run, Giancarlo Stanton homered in his first New York Yankees at-bat, while Houston Astros leadoff man George Springer homered in his first at-bat of the season for the second year in a row.

If this is the kind of action we’re going to get, we can’t wait to see what the rest of 2018 holds.
