The fastest player in NFL Combine history is hoping the Kansas City Chiefs select him in April’s NFL Draft and mold him into the league’s next Tyreek Hill.
Last week, Texas Longhorns wide receiver Xavier Worthy went viral on social media when he made history by posting the fastest 40-yard dash time in NFL history. Entering Saturday at this year’s event Clemson Tigers cornerback Nate Wiggins was the only player to run a sub-4.3 when he posted a 4.28 time in his 40-yard dash.

However, Worthy blew that number away when he put up a 4.21 time in the 40. It was not only the fastest this year but passed John Ross’ previous record by several tenths of a second. It added a lot of extra hype around the receiver who was already projected to go late in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft.
That means teams like the Arizona Cardinals, Buffalo Bills, and Baltimore Ravens could all be in play for Worthy’s services. And all of those franchises need young and talented receivers. But if it was up to Worthy, he is actually hoping the team picking last, the Kansas City Chiefs, is who he lands with in April and there is a specific reason why.

Xavier Worthy says Kansas City Chiefs ‘a perfect fit for me’
“In a perfect world, I definitely would want to go to the Chiefs,” Worthy told USA Today on Friday. “Just the way Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs improvise and use you. They had Tyreek Hill. The way they used him, I feel like that would be a perfect fit for me.”
The idea makes a lot of sense and the Chiefs badly need to find another wide receiver that can be molded into a go-to option for Mahomes long-term, along with Travis Kelce. Furthermore, the upside in Worthy in KC is high after he put together a far more impressive college career than Tyreek Hill, a player who was taken in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL Draft.
