Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark has played in just 13 games this season. And after a new injury suffered on Tuesday night, it seems like she may not play much more than that in 2025.

This has not been the sophomore WNBA season Clark was hoping for. After taking the league by storm in 2024 — just like she did in college — the 23-year-old star has struggled with her shooting, especially from deep. On Tuesday night, she was 4-14 from the field and just 1-7 from three. However, when it mattered most, the guard hit on a big three late to extend the Fever’s lead over the Sun.

However, in the final minute of Indiana’s eventual 85-77 victory, on a random pass, Clark seemed to injure her groin. When play stopped, the young star had her hand in that area and walked over to the padding under the basket and banged her head against it.

Caitlin Clark stats (2025): 16.5 PPG, 5.0 RPG, 8.8 APG, 1.6 SPG, 36% FG, 30% 3PT

When she heads over to her team’s bench, Clark is noticeably emotional and seems to openly start crying on the court. Cameras later caught her on the bench with a towel over her head, looking completely dejected.

The one-time All-Star has been dealing with injuries all season long. Early in the Fever’s 2025 campaign, she was sidelined with a quadriceps injury. Just recently, she returned from a left groin injury. Now, she seemingly has the same exact injury, but on the right side. The young superstar with the weight of the WNBA on her shoulders has been snake-bitten all season.

It doesn’t help that she has taken a step back statistically this year, and without her, Indiana looks like a team that is far from a lock to make the playoffs.

Depending on the severity of the strain, Caitlin Clark could miss a couple of weeks. But since this may be the second injury to the area, the team could be extra cautious with their top star, and she may miss far more time than that.
