Former UFC fighter Felipe Colares saw his MMA journey and life come to a tragic end on Monday after he was hit by a bus in his native Brazil.
On Monday morning, Brazilian fight sports outlet Combate broke the news have Felipe Colares’ shocking death after his coach Rodrigo Babi confirmed the news. Following a training session yesterday in Rio de Janeiro, the current Ares FC fighter died after apparently being hit by a passing bus.

The 15-fight veteran was tended to by first responders, however, he sadly passed in transport to a local hospital following the incident. His current promotion confirmed the news later with a post to their Instagram account. The Brazilian made his debut for the company in February with a successful first-round submission win over Alioune Nahaye at Ares FC 12.
Felipe Colares UFC record: 2-4

Colares was able to reach the UFC after just eight professional fights. “Cabocao” competed for the MMA world leader on six occasions and tallied a 2-4 overall UFC record after beating Domingo Pilarte in his company debut back in July 2019. Three of his losses inside the UFC’s fabled Octagon came to talented bantamweight fighters Montel Jackson, Chris Gutierrez, and Chase Hooper.
Before reaching the UFC, he won his first eight bouts, and all but one ended inside the distance. The native of Macapa, Brazil competed for popular regional promotion Jungle Fight, as well as NEC and Max Fight during the early stages of an MMA career that began in 2013.
The 29-year-old made headlines in January after allegedly breaking up a robbery in Rio. He posted images of the incident on social media and claimed that his jiu-jitsu skills were used to subdue a man who stole a phone from a woman on the street.
