A day after Antonio Brown threw a punch, New York Giants wide receiver Sterling Shepard and Cleveland Browns cornerback Troy Hill got into a fight on Friday.

The Giants and Browns were holding joint practices this week before Week 2 of the NFL preseason. According to NJ.com, the final whistle blew to single the end of the joint practice session when tempers between players suddenly erupted into chaos.

While the details of what sparked the fight are unknown, photographers and reporters captured the incident as it unfolded.

Hill, who signed with the Browns this offseason, squared up to launch a punch into Shepard’s face. However, New York’s slot receiver avoided the jab before teammates stepped in.

John Ross, the Cincinnati Bengals’ former first-round pick, stepped up to separate the two. He wrapped his arms around Hill, pulling him away from the scene as teammates helped end the fracas.

Shortly after the melee, Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski told reporters he wasn’t even aware there was a fight.

“I did not. That is news to me. Thank you for breaking that to me. I do not know,”

Tempers here high throughout the practice session with words being exchanged, but nothing ever escalated until players started leaving the field. Similar to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers-Tennessee Titans incident, teams will likely handle the matter internally.
