Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were mired in a tough divisional game against the Saints in New Orleans Sunday afternoon.

At 6-1 on the season, most figured the defending champs would win going away. Once Saints starting quarterback Jameis Winston went down to injury, that was magnified further.

But it wasn’t to be for Tom Terrific and his Buccaneers in the Bayou. Down 29-27 late in the fourth quarter and in need of getting into field goal range for the potential win, Brady made a mistake that has been extremely rare during his Hall of Fame worthy career.

Check out Tom Brady telegraph a pass intended for Chris Godwin on second and 10 from the Bucs 25. The ball was picked off by Saints defensive back P.J. Williams and returned 40 yards for the touchdown and the New Orleans win.

The 44-year-old Brady entered Sunday’s action having thrown a league-best 21 touchdowns against just three interceptions in seven starts this season.

Despite throwing four more touchdowns on Sunday, Brady was also picked off twice. This latter interception ultimately cost Tampa Bay a win and a 7-1 start to the season.
