Marcus Mariota isn’t off to a wonderful start during an important 2018 season, but he’ll be back under center for the Tennessee Titans in Week 4.

Head coach Mike Vrabel said Mariota, who has been dealing with an injured elbow, will be the first-stringer Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Mariota has only attempted 34 passes this season, finishing his most recent appearance 12-of-18 for 100 yards during an ugly win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. He entered as a reserve following Blaine Gabbert’s concussion.

Still, a win’s a win, and Tennessee would take another ugly victory Sunday.

Though the Titans have picked up the fifth-year option on Mariota’s contract, the former Oregon star hasn’t really met expectations as the No. 2 pick of the 2015 draft. Part of that can be attributed to poor coaching, but it’s the truth.

As a result, Mariota’s performance will be closely monitored this season.

Mariota will be looking for his first touchdown of the season Sunday, while Austin Davis is expected to serve as the backup.
