A total of 198 players went ahead of Michigan quarterback Tom Brady in the 2000 NFL Draft. Just a part-time starter during his time with the Wolverines, Brady was seen as a mere late-round option.

That came to fruition after the skinny Northern California native failed to impress during the NFL Scouting Combine months ahead of the 2000 draft.

Now, 21 years later, and Tom Brady is looking to lead his Tampa Bay Buccaneers to the title against Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LV. A win here would represent Brady’s seventh title after leading his former New England Patriots team to six Super Bowl victories. His teammates more than know what’s on the line. That includes center Ryan Jensen.

Yes, that’s Jensen rocking a shirt that depicts Brady’s weigh-in at the scouting combine more than two decades ago. It’s a photo that seemingly goes viral every time Tom Terrific is vying for a championship.

For good reason.

Every team in the NFL missed out on Brady back in 2000. In fact, the Patriots took six players before ultimately settling on Brady in the sixth round. Of those six players, only two played more than 50 career games.

As for Tom Brady, he’s now set to play in his 10th Super Bowl. It will also represent his 45th career postseason start. Just crazy stuff.
