Remember when Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Leonard Fournette was a healthy inactive for multiple games during the regular season?
The enigmatic running back signed with Tampa Bay last offseason after Tom Brady traded in his New England Patriots uniform for the Buccaneers. At that point, most figured Fournette would excel with Tom Terrific. It did not happen during the regular year with the former top-five pick recording under 400 rushing yards.
However, something seemed to click for Fournette in Tampa Bay’s run to Super Bowl LV. In fact, the former LSU standout recorded 303 total yards in the Buccaneers’ three playoff games leading up to Sunday evening.
Fournette was back up to his old tricks against a favored Chiefs team in Tampa Bay. That included the running back breaking the game wide open.

By virtue of this run, Leonard Fournette had tallied 95 total yards on just 13 touches through the first 2.5 quarters of Super Bowl LV. Talk about the Buccaneers being able to get the most from other teams’ castoffs.
This put the Buccaneers up 28-9 at the midway point of the third quarter. All four Buccaneers touchdowns came by players who they acquired after signing Tom Brady. That included Rob Gronkowski scoring two first-half touchdowns and Antonio Brown hauling in a scoring pass from Brady.
