Head coach Nick Sirianni and the Philadelphia Eagles entered Monday night’s NFC Wild Card Playoff game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers having lost four of five after a 10-1 start to the season.

Philadelphia’s meltdown to end the regular season was a major topic around the NFL world, including some talk that Sirianni could be out of a job with a loss to Tampa Bay. It’s amazing given that he led this team to a Super Bowl appearance less than a calendar year ago.

The Eagles’ collapse came to a culmination on the road against Tampa Bay with the team losing by the score of 32-9. Philadelphia’s disasterclass of a defense allowed Baker Mayfield to complete 22-of-36 passes for 337 yards with two touchdowns and zero interceptions.

Jalen Hurt was a shell of his former self with 250 passing yards and just one touchdown as Philadelphia’s offense continued to struggle.

A season that started with Super Bowl expections came crashing down Monday night. A season that saw Philadelphia as legitimate favorites to hoist the Lombardi mid way through ended in humiliating fashion.

We have absolutely no idea what is going to happen with the Eagles moving forward into the offseason. What we do know is that this team underperformed in every way after starting 10-1. There is no other way to describe it. This was an epic collapse, one we have not seen in the NFL world in some time.

As noted above, Philadelphia had been a major talking point heading into the NFL Playoffs. Many believe that the San Francisco 49ers broke them via a 42-19 win over the Eagles in Philadelphia back in December.

At the very least, the 49ers might have provided a blue print to defeat an Eagles team that seemingly couldn’t lose ahead of that Dec. 3 game. Either way, reactions were all over the place as Philadelphia’s season came crashing down harder than any of us after a night in Vegas.

It started with Nick Sirianni.

The rest of the Eagles were not immunue from the wrath of social media either. These responses to their disasterclass were all sorts of epic.
