Patrick Mahomes perfectly trolls Ja’Marr chase, fuels Bengals-Chiefs rivalry

The new rivalry between the Kansas City Chiefs and Cincinnati Bengals has become one of the best things about the NFL. Now, it could be even better after some recent trolling between Ja’Marr Chase and Patrick Mahomes.

At the Bengals’ minicamp, Chase was asked by reporters who he thinks is the best quarterback in the league. He immediately picked Joe Burrow, one of the NFL Top 100 players in 2023, as the best passer in the game.

It came as no surprise that Chase would pick the quarterback who he has caught passes from since their days together at LSU. The Burrow-Chase connection has become the best quarterback-receiver duo in the game today.

However, Chase also drew a reaction with his response to a question about Mahomes. When the All-Pro wide receiver was asked for a response to Burrow calling Mahomes the best NFL quarterback, he used it as an opportunity to take a subtle shot at the Chiefs’ quarterback.

“Pat Who?”

Mahomes waited a few days to respond, seizing on the opportunity to do it after he received his second Super Bowl ring. Shortly after, the two-time NFL MVP sent out a simple tweet that reminded Chase of exactly who he is.

All of this simply adds more fuel to what is becoming the best NFL rivalry today. Fortunately, the football world will get to see the Chiefs and Bengals go head-to-head on New Year’s Eve on CBS. Given the history between these two teams and other comments made this offseason, it should be one of the best games on the 2023 NFL schedule.
